Hey, I’m Allison!

I started dancing when I was two and fell in love! I’ve trained in all styles including ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, modern, acrobatics, musical theatre, pointe, and even small amounts of training in African diasporic styles and Irish dancing. I continued my education at UW Madison and received a BS in Dance and a certificate in Pilates. I danced for the Milwaukee Bucks for 4 seasons on their Junior team and 3 seasons on their adult team. I have backup danced for artists like Run DMC, Montell Jordan, Quad City DJ’s, Grace Webber and more! Besides being an instructor at Barrio, I am the Videographer Manager and Content Creator for the studio, as well as a member of our competitive company Barrio Dance Factory, and also a part of the admin team, and assistant choreographer for the company.

I absolutely love being an instructor at Barrio! I teach Jazz, Contempo, and Choreo regularly but also sub for Jazz funk and Heels. In my classes you can expect high energy and fun vibes! First and foremost, I want everyone to have fun because that’s why we dance! In addition to having fun in class, students can expect a nice workout! I love to be powerful in my dancing, so we will get our heart rate up and working. I also love to focus on textures, dynamics, and performance in my classes.

Fun fact: A fun fact about me is that I can do 10 back handsprings in a row!
