Hey, hey party people! I’m Courtney, but you can call me Coko!

I’m a dancer, choreographer, and fitness instructor based in Madison, WI. I earned my BFA in Dance from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2021. While my training began in classical styles, my passion quickly shifted toward commercial movement after graduating. I love playing with isolations, strong foundations, and dynamic movement to challenge and excite the dancers I work with.

I have been proud to be part of the Barrio family since 2019, beginning as a front desk team member before joining the teaching staff. I currently teach Contemporary, Hip Hop, Femme, and Heels, and serve as the Customer Relations Manager for both Barrio Dance locations. My dance journey would not be complete without my Barrio familia!

In my classes, I strive to create a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment through unique movement phrases and intentional qualities. I value the sense of community dance creates and believe deeply in the body as a powerful tool for communication. My goal is for every student who shares their energy with me to feel inspired to move, grow, and expand their craft—both inside and outside of the studio.
