In Barrio Dance Factory, all members elevate one another and encourage each others' effort and growth. Core values are hard work, consistency, support, professionalism, and accountability.
TRAINING
Barrio Dance Factory revolves around intense, consistent, and excellent training designed to enhance abilities in hip hop and street styles.

3-4 hour weekly rehearsal include conditioning, across the floor exercises, technique in a variety of styles (such as house, hip hop, litefeet, jersey, femme, etc), choreography, and performance skills.

FAQ
Q: How old must you be to be on the Barrio Dance Factory team? A: Barrio Dance Factory is open to all dancers aged 16+. Most dancers are adults, as the team is a competitive advanced level and many events, performances, and competitions require travel.
Q: When are auditions held? A: Barrio Dance Factory auditions are held 1x per year as the season is typically 9-12 months long. The next auditions will be held September 6 for the 2025-26 season.
Q: How often are rehearsals and when are rehearsals held? A: Barrio Dance Factory rehearsals are typically 1-2 times per week - every Saturday morning for 3-4 hours, and occasional Sunday mornings for 3 hours. Rehearsals take place at Barrio Downtown - 834 E Washington Ave.
Q: Do I need dance or hip hop experience to join the team? A: Yes, dance and hip hop experience is required. The audition process is based on hip hop and street style foundations, technique, performance, and choreography retention and is quite selective. The team's training is at an advanced level.
Q: How much does it cost? A: Every season varies based on how expensive costumes and competition registration are, how long the season is, and how many events the team is attending. Typically it is around $220-250/month with included Barrio classes, competition fees, costumes, rehearsal/instructor hours, choreography all included.
Q: Do you accept virtual submissions or alternate auditions? A: No. It is extremely for our directors to see your audition in person, and also see how you work in rehearsal and interact with teammates. We always announce the audition a couple months in advance so you can plan and prioritize!
