Hi!! I’m Maddie!

I’m so grateful to be teaching beg/int choreo at Barrio! I was born and raised in NYC, where I trained in hip hop, jazz, lyrical, ballet, and musical theater — but hip hop always had my heart. I moved to Madison in 2022 to attend UW–Madison and started training at Barrio when the new location opened that September. I joined Barrio Dance Factory shortly after and have been training and performing with the team ever since!

I was also a dancer for the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the 414 Crew during the 2023–2024 season, which was an unreal experience and deepened my love for dance in professional sports settings. My hip hop training is very rooted in street styles and understanding foundations, and that’s something I really prioritize in my classes. You can expect to learn foundational grooves and elements from different street styles each week while still having fun and feeling challenged. I’m also very into the 2004–2016 era of music, so expect lots of throwbacks in class.

My goal as an instructor is to create the same welcoming, supportive environment that made me fall in love with Barrio — a space where everyone feels comfortable, confident, and excited to dance. I’m so grateful to be teaching here and sharing my love for hip hop with this community!
