Heya, I'm Raghav!

I’m originally from New Delhi, India, but I’ve been living in Madison for the better part of a decade now. My love for dance started at a young age, mostly at weddings or family gatherings. It wasn’t until I started college that I actually joined a dance team (shoutout Bounce Dance!). I am so grateful that I found Barrio as a dance community in Madison, and I’ve met some of the closest people to me in my life through the studio. To me, dance is a pure form of movement that helps me express myself and showcase my most confident self! I hope, as a teacher, to be able to help you on your dance journey; whatever that may be.

My classes focus mainly on fundamentals and foundations of street-style dances. I believe it is important to have a strong blueprint when it comes to learning dance so that you can ultimately build your own style. I’m big on vocabulary as well, since it helps a lot with memorization and paying tribute to the history of these moves. I also love when people have questions in my class, so please ask them! I’m committed to making the space comfortable for learning, so don’t be afraid to raise your hand and ask questions. I want all my students to feel empowered to learn.

You can expect a lot of fun exercises, party songs, and a whole lot of vibes in my class. Whether you’re new to dance, or trying to get back into it, I hope to be able to dance with you soon!

Fun fact: I am from India but my spice tolerance is really low…
